What You Generally Need to Know to Rank at the Top of Google — post content

Google'da Üst Sıralara Çıkmak İçin Genel Olarak Bilinmesi Gerekenler
  • You absolutely must turn off the "meta keywords" feature of any SEO plugin you're using.
  • Don't leave the description sections of your pages, posts, categories, etc. that depend on your SEO plugin empty. If the description appears on more than one page, you can point your main page to the search engine using the "Canonical (Standard)" tag mechanism. This way, you'll avoid duplicate content issues.
  • Optimize your images to give your visitors a faster website experience.
  • Create About, Contact, and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) pages so that your visitors can easily find answers to their questions.
  • When choosing your theme, consider the issues you don't want when navigating sites yourself, and ensure your visitors can easily access every useful point of your site.
  • Stay absolutely away from cheap link packages. Don't forget that lasting SEO work always takes a long time. For this, determine your strategy for building natural links. Through this strategy, authoritative sites can share any of your useful posts on their own sites by citing them as sources.
  • Provide a discussion environment for your visitors. What I mean by this is; let them comment on your articles. Search engines really like visitor feedback.
  • Research and apply the matter of being indexed as a brand.
  • Definitely use Social Media platforms actively.
  • Implement Robots.txt and Sitemap optimizations.
  • Fix pages that can't be found.
  • Learn to use the free tools provided by search engines and produce analysis, and plan your strategy.
  • Set up general parts like titles and descriptions when starting your project. Changing elements like the theme later may cause you to lose ranking. If you want to change the design of your existing site without losing ranking; the title and meta descriptions of all your hit-receiving links should remain the same after the plugin/theme change.
  • Try to get natural links from your top competitors. To do this, you must share more useful content than them.
  • Be sure to identify and disavow harmful links.
  • Again, check the notifications of search engine tools every 3-4 days to see if there are any suggestion or problem notifications.
  • Design your site's mobile design as well as possible.
  • Allocate an advertising budget and get sponsored ads on Social Media platforms. Don't forget that what we call SEO work is not filling the site with keywords.
  • Definitely read the article on why an SSL certificate is important and apply the recommendations. And don't forget that the transition process to the "HTTPS" connection is not just providing redirects from your hosting panel. You must definitely also notify search engine tools of this transition process. For this, you can get free help (CloudFlare) by contacting me.
  • Never, ever write your articles for the sake of ranking high on Google. Articles that give users definitive and beautiful information are far better than a junk article filled with keywords. Because this supports social advertising.
  • Do not get involved in practices called organic hits. The year 2019, surely they will understand this with a single algorithm. They can understand mouse movements.
  • By using tags appropriately, you can direct your visitors to articles related to your current article. Apart from this, some themes recommend a related article when you scroll to the bottom of an article. See; "Jannah"
  • Use CloudFlare, even on the free plan. CloudFlare will allow you to get indexed faster.
  • Your URL structure should be SEO-friendly. For example; "https://www.siteadi.com/yazi-linki/", an example of a non-SEO-friendly link would be; "https://www.siteadi.com/yazi=?12321/" these or similar links.
How to write SEO-friendly content to rank high on Google?
  • You must definitely include the keyword you're targeting and the words closest in meaning to it in the main title of the article, in the meta description, in the headings within the article, and in the paragraphs. By doing this; you ensure that users searching for word "a" with word "b" can reach article "x". To give an example; write an article called "Youtube SEO settings". Make sure users can also reach this article when they type "youtube seo settings" or "youtube channel settings" into Google.
  • Make one external link and one internal link from your article. But the part you should pay attention to is; especially the internal link you provide must definitely be related to your article.
  • No paragraph should exceed 150 words. This criterion is not directly a factor for Google, but I interpret it as follows; short paragraphs indicate a change of subject and don't tire the visitor. This way, you increase the time spent on your website and reduce the bounce rate.
  • Apart from listings in your articles, use headings (h2, h3, h4) every 300 words.
  • By looking at your competitors, fill in the visual gaps in the keywords you aim to stand out for. Don't just use a photo for the sake of it in your articles, you can also put a video if your competitor doesn't have one. If they do, put two videos. What's important here is, what do you have more of than your competitor?
  • Don't leave the "ALT" and "title" tags empty on your visuals. This tag both lets search engines understand what your visuals are about and allows you to be listed in image searches.
  • There are points to consider when using tags. As much as they perform the same function as tags on social media platforms, this is in your hands. Let's say you used tag "x" on article "y" but didn't use it on any other article. Now let's approach the matter logically; the visitor will scroll to the bottom of your article and when tag "x" catches their interest, they'll click on it. They'll notice that there's only 1 article on the web page for tag "x" and that it's the article they just read. Whereas on Instagram, is it like that, friends? Of course not. Your goal should be to keep the user on each of your pages for as much time as possible. Also, looking at the example I just gave from Google's perspective; since elements like text/html ratio are low, it's directly considered a useless page. Reducing empty pages will be useful to you in every way.
  • If you have a goal of ranking your category higher rather than your article; don't use multiple categories on your articles. Web sites that already use multiple categories have steady visitors. These visitors enter that website directly via the address bar, these are usually technology blogs. (For example; Shiftdelete, Webtekno)
  • Write your articles only to inform users. Don't try to deceive search engines, that is; don't fill your articles with keywords in absurd ways.
  • Reflect your own style in your articles besides technical information so that your visitors become addicted to you. What I mean is; let's say when phone "x" came out, 5 YouTubers shot review videos. You may not enjoy watching all 5 videos, or you liked them all but there will definitely be one video among them that you said is better. That's exactly what I mean.
  • In your articles, don't just criticize the topics you talk about, offer solutions to your visitors so they expect more.
  • You must follow every update related to your industry.
  • Definitely update your old content regularly and add internal links.
  • Use your headings in the order "h1>h2>h3>h4". On the WordPress infrastructure, the title of your article or the title of your page is automatically defined as "h1" on the web page. Don't forget to definitely include your keyword in this "h1" title. To touch on the numbers regarding headings; the type "h1" heading should be a maximum of 1, and as I just explained, it's added automatically. The "h2" heading should be used 4 times. The number of "h3" and "h4" headings is, of course, optional in order. Of course, these may be hearsay. The truth of the matter is; all the headings information I wrote above is correct for explaining a single subject, but if you're going to explain more than one subject on a page, your hierarchy could also be like this;
How should E-Commerce SEO strategies be?
  • The same product as yours can also be sold on another website, this is not a problem. The only thing you need to do is; make sure that your competitors' pages and your pages don't resemble each other in any way.
  • Definitely take and edit the photos of your products yourself. I don't recommend downloading them ready-made from the internet and tweaking them.
  • In the description section of your products, definitely include a YouTube-supported video where you introduce the product. It must especially be on YouTube.
  • Write the description sections of your products longer and more informative than your competitors.
  • On most advanced E-Commerce sites, there's no category description. The description I'm talking about here is not "meta description," friends. The category description I'm referring to is located under "Description" on the WordPress admin panel. Even when websites use this feature, they keep their descriptions very short. Be sure to keep this part as long as possible. If you're not using WordPress, you can also add descriptions to your categories by creating various functions.
  • Whatever features are present in the desktop version of your E-Commerce site, definitely make sure these features are also present on mobile, this allows your visitor to spend more time on your site and definitely provides a positive return on the conversion rate.
  • Both on desktop and mobile, don't redirect the user to another page to add the product to the cart. Briefly, when the user clicks the add to cart button; the product should be added to the cart without changing the page they're currently on. (Bonus)
  • Definitely use an EV SSL certificate where your company name will appear in the URL bar. This psychologically increases trust between your customers and your company. And nowadays, most internet users know that obtaining the SSL certificate I mentioned is a legal and laborious process, and that's why this trust is mostly built. People now want to trust one of dozens of sites on the internet. So 80% of the time, the issue is not whether the product is expensive or cheap, but the trust between seller and customers.
  • Research the Facebook Pixel and definitely use it. To summarize briefly; with a code you'll get from Facebook, you can show any user a product they previously viewed on your site again on the social media platform, increasing the purchase intent by 50%.
  • Especially an E-Commerce site should use Social Media Platforms very effectively. In the analyses conducted; even though a company has its main central website, users can visit the company's links on Social Media platforms more often. So you also reach a certain audience using these platforms and share each of your products with your followers on these platforms.
  • You must show all variations of your products on the same page, otherwise you may be exposed to duplicate content. If you can't do this, research the "canonical" tag.
  Why WordPress for SEO?
  • First, without having to pay any fee, WordPress offers you the infrastructure that most software developers can offer you for large fees, free of charge and in a more professional way.
  • Thanks to different optimization plugins; you can carry out your optimizations with a single click.
  • By using one of the other infrastructures or coding a design from scratch; you make difficult what you can easily do with WordPress.
  • Since it's the most preferred platform in the world, your theme options are unlimited. One of the themes in the $30-$60 range will definitely do the job for you. Apart from this, if you have coding knowledge, you can code your own theme yourself.
  • Also, using WordPress doesn't mean you won't have a custom design of your own.
  • Imagine you need to urgently change something on your site; thanks to WordPress's indispensable admin panel, you'll be able to handle this without consulting your "developer/designer."
Which SEO plugin should you use for WordPress? If you do a general review, you'll see that the most used plugins are; Yoast SEO and AIO SEO Pack. Of course, what we call SEO work is not entirely dependent on a plugin. These two plugins provide you with convenience at certain points. The only thing you need to do is; install both plugins and review them on your local server. Definitely, definitely don't make an unconscious plugin transition on a website you're operating, if you make a mistake afterwards, it leads to a loss of ranking. Thanks to these plugins, you can:
  • Create page title arrangements
  • Approve any link on the website that you don't want indexed
  • Create a Robot.txt file
  • Create a sitemap
  • Create Opengraph tags
  • Create meta tags related to SEO
  • Create the page's meta description
  • Especially with the panel below the article in the Yoast SEO plugin, the feature of checking whether your article is compatible with SEO criteria and correcting errors
And many more features. Of course, the functions these plugins can perform can also be done from scratch without using any custom infrastructure. A few tips for fast indexing!
  • Keep your articles as long as possible.
  • Share every useful link of your website on Social Media Platforms.
  • Carefully check data like title and description before publishing your page initially, so you don't change them later.
  • Consult a professional advertising specialist to reach relevant people with appropriate budgets; get organic traffic.
  • SEO is not just writing articles or getting links. Use every useful channel that comes to mind!
